Street Photography Portfolio

Street photography is a photographic practice of capturing candid moments of people in everyday life in public places. It aims to capture the essence of authenticity and rawness of people in their most natural state. Street photographers often avoid asking permission to take someone’s photo before they hit the shutter, as it may interfere with the moment’s spontaneity. The genre of street photography is not limited to busy cities or rural areas but can be taken anywhere that sparks curiosity.

The genre of photography offers a real challenge to capturing images. The best street-style photographers are from the city environments, with a wide range of architecture and the people who live there. More rural areas can also offer opportunities to capture candid moments. It is the excitement of not knowing what candid moment awaits around the next corner. My Street Photography Portfolio at Christian Lawrence Photography shows some of my images. Whether in your local town or in the big cities of London or Berlin, there is always an opportunity to get out with the camera and capture some street scenes.

A great place to practice is at an organised public event. Here, you can hone your skills and get comfortable with taking photos in more crowded situations. Interested in more opportunities to practice then check out my blog here at Christian Lawrence Photography where i discuss places to start getting to grips with street photography.
