There are moments when the Isle of Wight seems to slow down, and this was one of them.

I captured this sunset at Colwell Bay, as the last light of the day spread across the sea and filled the sky with warm golden tones. Using a long exposure, I softened the movement of the water around the breakwater, creating a calm, flowing quality that contrasts beautifully with the solid shapes of the shoreline.

I remember standing there watching the light gradually change as the sun disappeared towards the horizon. The sea became quieter, the colours softened and for a short while everything felt completely still. It was one of those simple moments that makes you stop and appreciate where you are.

This photograph was created to capture that feeling — the warmth of an Isle of Wight sunset, the calm of the coastline and the peaceful atmosphere of Colwell Bay.
